Journeys was an app and service for recording and reliving the experience of a hike or city trip. It would record the whereabouts of the user as a trace on the map and attach photos, videos, and other media to it. This project would later evolve into Tracks.

Role: user experience and visual design
2010 - 2012

Journeys Web

Journeys was my first project for Nokia. I was responsible for the design of the web experience where users could view and share their trips. Users could also discover trips by other people and get inspired for their own trip-planning. Third-party content like TripAdvisor or Lonely Planet was also integrated. Users had also the ability to edit trips, to delete or upload photos, write short descriptions or even create trips from scratch.

The Recording App

The Journeys app to record trips was a Symbian application for Nokia phones. I collaborated with the designer of the app on the overall experience of Journeys. Both the app and the website were integral parts of the Journeys experience.

Working on Journeys was an exciting experience, my first in product development at a large company. I took a device with a dev version of the app on all my trips and used the experience to inform my design.
